Boca da Onça offers four trail versions on the same property: Discovery, Adventure, Rappelling, and Half Trail. The Discovery Combo is the choice for those who want swimming, scenery, and contemplation at an accessible pace — without the 886-step staircase and without the 156-meter Boca da Onça Waterfall, which belong to the Adventure Combo.
What Discovery includes: a 6.5 km trail, 4x4 vehicle access, 4 swimming spots with clear and transparent water, 3 viewpoints, breakfast and lunch included, and guide accompaniment throughout the entire route. The difference between the versions is not the beauty of the place — it's what the visitor covers. We recommend Discovery for those seeking an experience without physical challenge.

Boca da Onça is located in the Bodoquena region, 34 km from the town and 60 km (37 mi) from Bonito, within a canyon area carved by the Salobra River (Salobra River). The vegetation is typical of cerrado and high-altitude Atlantic forest, with species found only there.
Access to the trailhead is by 4x4 vehicle, descending the mountain range along a well-maintained dirt road. The vehicle is part of the experience. It's not a transfer — it's your first contact with the adventure.
The support infrastructure is one of the most complete in the region: restaurant with lunch included, pool for use after the trail, locker room with shower, lockers for belongings during the route, Wi-Fi at reception, and accessible restrooms. You don't need to carry anything beyond what's necessary for the day.

The day starts early. The first stop is breakfast at the Boca da Onça reception — a spacious, well-maintained facility with views of the surrounding vegetation. Breakfast is included and designed to sustain you until lunch, which comes after the trail.
Access to the trailhead is by 4x4 vehicle. The descent takes about 20 minutes, and your guide accompanies you from start to finish.
The first point of contact with the water is Recanto do Mutum (Mutum Corner). It's the quietest place along the entire route. The surrounding vegetation creates a natural barrier against noise.
Mutum offers a wide canyon view and a wooden deck structure over the water. This is where you understand why this place exists: it's not just a waterfall — it's a canyon. The limestone walls rise on both sides, and the water flows at the lowest level.
This is the spot that most surprises those who arrive without expectations. Many pass through quickly to reach the next swimming spots, but this is where the landscape is widest and the silence most present.
Second stop: a rock slab with a side waterfall and limestone wall in the background. The water falls over the rock and forms a shallow natural pool in front. The view is postcard-worthy. Transparent water, preserved rock formation, vegetation all around.
The third spot is for contemplation, no swimming. The water is too shallow for safe entry. But the scenery makes up for it: the golden hue of the rock reflects in the crystal-clear water, and the canyon shape here differs from Recanto do Mutum. It's the ideal spot for photos.
A wide space of gentle rapids. The water runs faster here, but access is via a wooden deck on the bank. This is the transition point between the upper and lower swimming spots.
Two access points: one above the waterfall and another at the lower swimming spot. The waterfall is narrow and tall, with concentrated water flow. The upper access is more thrilling. The sound of the water is direct, not filtered by vegetation.
Surrounded by vegetation, with a side waterfall. The space is more enclosed than the previous spots — less canyon, more forest. It's the last swimming spot before the end.
Final point of the Discovery trail. A spacious area with multiple low waterfalls and a natural pool in front. This is where the trail ends and the return begins.
The return follows the same route by 4x4 vehicle. The mountain descent on the way back offers a different view. The sun is higher, the light changes. Your guide accompanies you and answers questions.

The Discovery Combo is the right choice for those who want a broad experience without physical challenge. It works well for families with children ages 4 and up, mixed groups with varying fitness levels, and those who prefer swimming and contemplation over exertion.
We do not recommend this combo for those whose priority is seeing the 156-meter Boca da Onça Waterfall. That spot belongs to the Adventure Combo. If the postcard view is what matters, the right choice is a different product.
Boca da Onça has facilities to welcome children and family groups. The difficulty is easy, and there's no fitness requirement.
The day is long: 8 hours of experience include travel, trail, and swimming time. Those who prefer a slower pace and more time at each spot should let the guide know at the start. It's possible to adjust the pace without compromising the itinerary.

"I went at the end of February, rainy season. I loved the tour. It has the best waterfalls and a really cool trail. Totally worth it. Without a doubt, the best tour in Bonito and the region."
