Parque das Cachoeiras
Duration3 hrs
The cold water of the Mimoso River takes you by surprise at the very first natural pool. The van drops the group at the trailhead and the sound of footsteps on wooden walkways gives way to the roar of the falls. The 1,800-meter trail reveals one waterfall after another at a leisurely pace. Seven in total along the Mimoso River (Rio Mimoso). The heart-shaped deck at Cachoeira do Amor (Love Waterfall) marks the point where the hike meets rest. The infinity pool seems to merge with the tree canopy.

The trail follows the Mimoso River for 1,800 meters, with wooden walkways and packed dirt sections. There are seven waterfalls along the route, and five of them offer swimming conditions. Water volume varies depending on the rainfall season.
Your ticket includes day use: you can stay at the recreational area all day after the trail. The infinity pool is the central feature, with views of the surrounding vegetation. The site has a restaurant, lockers, a locker room with shower, and free parking. Food, beverages, and speakers are not allowed.

Parque das Cachoeiras suits those who want to walk at a relaxed pace and stop for swims. The wooden walkways and flat sections make the route accessible. There are no age restrictions.
If your priority is sightseeing with moderate effort, this tour delivers better than the long trails of Bonito. Those seeking pure adrenaline will prefer rappelling.
The water of the Mimoso River is cold. Visitors report that the thermal shock is the first surprise, and the mandatory life jacket reinforces that this is not a casual dip. The tour can be done in flip-flops, since the trail has wooden walkways for most of the route. We recommend bringing biodegradable sunscreen and repellent — items that make a difference on a full day outdoors.

"Excellent tour, with 7 waterfalls, but we swam in 5. The first one had murkier water and the second-to-last had little water, but the last one was much better. They dropped us off by van at the start of the trail and we walked back along walkways and trails. We went as a family of 7, including 2 very active seniors in their 70s."

"There are 7 waterfalls, you can enter 6 of them. The waters are cold and life jackets are mandatory. You can do this tour in flip-flops. Cachoeira do Amor is wonderful — even the decks are heart-shaped."
— Ana Beatriz Costa
"It was an incredible day. The place is beautiful, worth visiting. The guide was always ready to answer questions. We loved the experience."
