Bio Park
Duration1 hr
Travelers with young children, those looking for a relaxed pace, and anyone who wants the whole group to connect with nature without physical demands will find the ideal setting at Bio Park.
Families with children get more out of this experience here than at any other attraction in Bonito: the visit is guided, lasts approximately 1 hour, and no one is asked to leave.
We recommend this tour for multigenerational groups - grandparents, parents, and children walk together along the trails, observe rescued animals just a few meters away, and discover, at the mini animal farm, a moment that usually extends the visit well beyond what was planned.

Opened in 2019, Bio Park shelters more than twenty wildlife species from southern Mato Grosso do Sul. The animals arrived here because of physical problems or because they were not able to return to their natural habitat.
The technical team - veterinarians, animal scientists, biologists, and caretakers - monitors each one of them daily. This means the visit has a concrete purpose: to understand why that animal is there and what conservation requires from the region.
The enclosures are open, and the animals stay just a few meters from visitors. Cougars, giant anteaters, toco toucans, red macaws, owls, and maned wolves are part of the observation route. The visit is led by local guides from beginning to end.
After the main circuit, the mini animal farm works as a second moment. Mini rabbits, ponies, and mini cows allow direct interaction - children do not watch from afar; they touch and get close. We recommend setting aside extra time for this stage: in practice, this is where families usually spend the most time.

Upon arrival, the Bio Park team welcomes the group with the park's safety instructions. It is a quick but necessary moment - the rules exist to protect both visitors and animals.
Local guides lead the group along the trails and introduce each species with information about rescue, rehabilitation, and behavior. The order and availability of the animals may vary depending on the day, weather, and the well-being of each individual.
See all the animals you may encounter at Bio Park:
Brazilian tapir, blue-and-yellow macaw, red-and-green macaw, scarlet macaw, black howler monkey, capybara, collared peccary, greater rhea, red-footed tortoise, yellow-footed tortoise, maned wolf, capuchin monkey, cougar, mangrove parrot, yellow-faced parrot, blue-fronted Amazon, white-eyed parakeet, yellow-chevroned parakeet, peach-fronted parakeet, white-lipped peccary, green anaconda, giant anteater, southern tamandua, and toco toucan.
The second circuit is lighter and more open. Children interact directly with the mini animals in a controlled environment. There is no rush: visitors can stay at the attraction for as long as they want.
The reception area has a snack bar and souvenir shop. Those who want to extend their visit have a place to stay, even after completing both circuits.

If the idea is to keep the group together without physical demands, Bio Park delivers better than any other attraction in Bonito. The trail is short, the pace is set by the guide, and the mini animal farm works as a natural pause in the middle of the itinerary.
Those traveling with grandparents, babies in arms, or wheelchair users will also find suitable infrastructure: an adapted restroom, rest area, and accessibility along the route.
For those traveling only with adults and seeking adrenaline, this is not the right tour. The experience is contemplative, not adventurous. The charm comes from being close to the animals and understanding the conservation work - not from the thrill of a radical activity.
The average duration is 1 hour, but most families stay longer - especially at the mini animal farm. The visit is always led by local guides. The availability of each animal may vary depending on the day, weather, and individual well-being.
